Denise Mahoney - Owner
As the owner of The Colour Authority Denise has an extensive education background. She has studied with Goldwell, Bumble and Bumble, KMS, Toni & Guy, Robert Cromean, Nick Arojjo, Beth Minardi Color America, The International Color Exchange and many others. Denise's work was published in Passion Magazine's Color edition in O7 and again in 08. She was called upon to do color for MaryBeth Hurt while in Portland filming the movie "Untraceable". Denise believes as a stylist you can never stop learning and is committed to keeping her clients current.
Annie - Stylist
Annie did her apprenticeship with The Colour Authority and has been a stylist here for 6 years. Annie has participated in many advance education classes with Goldwell, KMS and Toni and Guy. Annie's work has even been published in Passion Magazine's Color edition for 08. Annie feels one of her strengths is her flexibility. She is willing to do whatever it takes to meet the varied and unique needs of her clients.
Randall - Stylist
Randall did her apprenticeship at The Colour Authority and has been a stylist here for 3 years. She has done advanced education classes with Goldwell. Randall loves to do haircolor, updo's and hair extensions. She uses micro links and glue bond type extensions.
Julie - Stylist
Julie has been a stylist at The Colour Authority for 20 years. Julie has done advanced education with several industry leaders such as Goldwell, Redken, Robert Cromean Academy and Toni and Guy Academy. Julie feels her strength is her classic work and expert styling.
Debbie - Stylist
Debbie has been with The Colour Authority for over 20 years. She has done continuing education classes with Toni and Guy, Goldwell and KMS. She enjoys doing all kinds of cutting and coloring hair.
Monica - Stylist
Monica did her apprenticeship at The Colour Authority and has been a stylist here for 5 years. She has done advanced education classes with Goldwell and KMS for cut and coloring. Not only is Monica's work published in Passion magazines color edition 08 but she is published as a model for 07 and 08. Monica's attention to detail and her versatility are what she feels are her strengths.
Melissa - Stylist
Melissa has been doing hair for 2 1/2 years. She did her apprenticeship at The Colour Authority. Melissa has trained with Toni and Guy, Goldwell and Paul Mitchell. Here is what Melissa has to say about herself as a stylist. " I have the interest to listen, skill to perform, passion for my profession and a desire to remain current."
Haley - Stylist
Haley did her apprenticeship with The Colour Authority, and has been a stylist here for 4 years. Haley has studied with Goldwell and KMS along with extension education in Florida at Glam Hair Extensions (flat seamless method). Haley's strength is being able to work on a wide range of clients, from conservative to edgy, children to adults.
Yulia - Stylist
Yulia did her apprenticeship at The Colour Authority and has been a stylist at the the Salon for 3 years. Yulia has an extensive education background. She has taken classes with Andre Nizetich, board of certified haircolorists. Balayage classes with Siggers team. Mastering Red Haircolor and Special Effects for Long hair. She has taken classes with Goldwell,KMS, Toni and Guy and most recently went to NYC to study with Bumble and Bumble. Yulia was published in Passion Magazines Color Edition 07 and 08. Yulia's strength is customizing a hairstyle for each client that suites their texture, lifestyle and personality.
Kari - Stylist
Leah did her apprenticeship at the Colour Authority. She has returned to the Salon after 8 years away. Leah specializes in mens hair and also enjoys all aspects of cutting and coloring men,women and childrens hair.
Patrick has been a stylist for 23 years. He has taken many advanced classes in hair color, cutting and special event styling (Weddings). Patrick's specialty is in all areas of hair design, color, cutting, up do's, chi hair straightening and braiding. Patrick's favorite memory is of a client saying she was 'transformed from frumpy to fabulous'.
Jessica - Esthetician
Jessica has a BA in Education and is a licenced esthetician. Jessica's first experience with brow waxing was a disaster. Her first beauty school client ended up with half an eyebrow...oops! She swore to never do eyebrows again. Now, six years and thousands of eyebrows later, Jessica would say brow design is her forte. Jessica also does relaxing, skin refreshing facials and is an expert in natural and special event makeup.
Tuyet - Nail Technician
For more than 2 decades at the Colour Authority, Tuyet has enjoyed giving clients the finest natural manicures and pedicures available in the Portland area. Tuyet loves what she does and is committed to continually improving the beauty and health of her clients nails.
Thuy ( pronounced Twee ) is a graduate of East West College of Healing Arts. Thuy loves doing massage and is passionate about helping people manage pain naturally. She enjoys seeing the results and benefits that massage provides for her clients. Thuy specializes in Deep Tissue, Swedish, Hot Stone and Table Thai massage.
