Stylists
Denise Mahoney - Owner
As the owner of The Colour Authority, Denise has an extensive education background. She has studied with Goldwell, Bumble and bumble, KMS, Toni & Guy, Robert Cromean, Nick Arojjo, Beth Minardi - Color America, The International Color Exchange and many others. Denise's work was published in Passion Magazine's Color edition in '07 and again in '08. She was called upon to do color for MaryBeth Hurt while in Portland filming the movie "Untraceable". Denise believes as a stylist you can never stop learning and is committed to keeping her clients current.
Annie - Stylist
Annie did her apprenticeship with The Colour Authority and has been a stylist here for 9 years. Annie has participated in many advance education classes with Goldwell, KMS and Toni and Guy. Annie's work has even been published in Passion Magazine's Color edition for '08. One of Annie's strengths is her flexibility. She is willing to do whatever it takes to meet the varied and unique needs of her clients.
Randall - Stylist
Randall did her apprenticeship at The Colour Authority and has been a stylist here for 4 years. She has completed advanced education classes with Goldwell. She loves to do haircolor, updo's and hair extensions using micro links and glue bond type extensions.
Julie - Stylist
Julie has been a stylist at The Colour Authority for 20 years. Julie has done advanced education with several industry leaders such as Goldwell, Redken, Robert Cromean Academy and Toni and Guy Academy. Julie's strength is her classic work and expert styling.
Debbie - Stylist
Debbie has been with The Colour Authority for over 20 years. She has done continuing education classes with Toni and Guy, Goldwell and KMS. She enjoys doing all kinds of cutting and coloring hair.
Monica - Stylist
Monica did her apprenticeship at The Colour Authority and has been a stylist here for 8 years. She has done advanced education classes with Goldwell and KMS for cut and coloring. Not only is Monica's work published in Passion magazines color edition '08 but she is published as a model for '07 and '08. Monica's attention to detail and her versatility are her strengths.
Melissa - Stylist
Melissa did her apprenticeship at The Colour Authority and has been a stylist here for 3 years. Melissa has trained with Toni and Guy, Goldwell and Paul Mitchell. Here is what Melissa has to say about herself as a stylist, " I have the interest to listen, skill to perform, passion for my profession and a desire to remain current."
Haley - Stylist
Haley did her apprenticeship with The Colour Authority and has been a stylist here for 4 years. Haley has studied with Goldwell, KMS and Glam Hair Extensions in Florida in the flat seamless method. Haley's strength is being able to work on a wide range of clients, from conservative to edgy, children to adults.
Yulia - Stylist
Yulia did her apprenticeship at The Colour Authority and has been a stylist here for 5 years. Yulia has an extensive education background. She has taken classes with Andre Nizetich Board of Certified Haircolorists, Balayage with Siggers team, and Mastering Red Haircolor and Special Effects for Long hair. She has taken classes with Goldwell, KMS, Toni and Guy and most recently went to NYC to study with Bumble and bumble. Yulia was published in Passion Magazines Color Edition '07 and '08. Yulia's strength is customizing hairstyles to suite each clients texture, lifestyle and personality.
Leah - Stylist
Leah did her apprenticeship at the Colour Authority. She has returned to the Salon after 8 years. Leah specializes in mens hair and also enjoys all aspects of cutting and coloring men, women and children's hair.
Fern - Stylist
Fern went through our apprenticeship program over a year ago. She has taken advanced education classes with Bumble and bumble and Goldwell. Although Fern is a new talent in the salon, she has a natural ability for doing hair. Fern loves doing all kinds of color and cuts and has a passion for hair.
Larae - Stylist
Larae is a new talent stylist at the Colour Authority. She completed her apprenticeship and has done continuing education with Goldwell and Bumble and Bumble. Larae is building her clientel and is offering new client incentives and specials. Be sure to ask about them when you call to schedule your appointment.
Shannon - Stylist
Shannon is an original stylist from the salon's founding. She returned to the salon last summer through our apprenticeship program and has been a stylist for five years. Shannon is dedicated to advanced education and has attended Goldwell and Bumble and bumble classes. Her strengths are color, cutting and creativity.
Alex - Stylist
Alex is the newest addition to our talented staff. Alex completed an 8 month apprenticeship at the Colour Authority and is anxious to build your trust in her as your new stylist. Alex has new client incentives and specials. Be sure to ask about them when you call to schedule your appointment.
Jessica - Esthetician
Jessica is a licensed Esthetician and Permanent Cosmetics Specialist. She has been at the Colour Authority for 8 years offering skin care services that include full body waxing, facials, special event makeup, organic airbrush spray tanning and permanent makeup. Jessica retails many in-demand beauty product lines such as TOCCA Beauty, Prtty Peaushun, MOR Cosmetics and Tokyo-Milk to name a few. Jessica's strengths are her flexibility, creativity, and attention to detail.
Tuyet - Nail Technician
For more than 2 decades at The Colour Authority, Tuyet has enjoyed giving clients the finest natural manicures and pedicures available in the Portland area. Tuyet loves what she does and is committed to continually improving the beauty and health of her clients nails.
Thuy (pronounced Twee) is a graduate of East West College of Healing Arts. Thuy loves doing massage and is passionate about helping people manage pain naturally. She enjoys seeing the results and benefits that massage provides for her clients. Thuy specializes in Deep Tissue, Swedish, Hot Stone and Table Thai massage.
